Animated teaser, 2021

 

The history of Brazil was written by the hands of great women who took up arms in the fight for independence. One of them was Maria Quitéria, the protagonist of the feature-length fiction film written and directed by Lara Carvalho, who in 1822 fled her home in the interior of Bahia and, disguised as a man, enlisted in the National Army to fight for Brazil's independence and her own freedom.

The project was included in the Project Development Notice for the 200th Anniversary of Brazil's Independence, in 2019.

The animated teaser aims to raise funds for the project, which is still under development.
